There’s exciting news today straight from the Britney Spears Twitter account - today Britney was shooting for her new “Radar” video!

That’s about the extent of the details for the moment, but at least now we know that “Radar” is the next official Britney Spears single and there will a video coming soon! I can’t wait to find out more information!

Britney Spears broke a record last week when her hit single Womanizer shot from the low spot of 96 straight to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. This is the highest 1-step hike in history, and Britney took the time in her busy schedule to personally thank fans for the support.

Britney Spears is in the Big Apple to promote Womanizer, her recent single and gave a lengthy interview to Z100, the station who premiered the single for her.

‘Womanizer is a really cool song,‘ Britney told Z-100. ‘I like the fact that it’s so empowering for girls because it’s basically saying, ya know, we know what you’re up to. It’s about guys cheating on other girls and stuff like that. And it’s kinda like a girl anthem, so that’s why I like it.‘

In the meantime, the single is also climbing over U.S. charts, it climbed from #50 to #39 on Mediabase Top 40 Radio Airplay counting 1,638 million audience and 1,200 spins (as of Sunday).

Lastly, it’s been confirmed that the single will be released on iTunes on October 7th. I saw it available for download on some pirated websites but the official release will only take place next week.

Federline spoke about his upcoming single called Daddy’s Home while hosting a party in South Beach (Florida). According to a source for People.com “He has put a lot of time and effort into writing and rehearsing it, but says it is not quite ready yet.”

Sources at the Mansion say Kevin was in a great mood, dressed in an over-sized, blue, long-sleeved, oxford shirt and jeans, spent much of the night chatting with the club’s host Lyndon Smith, another single dad. “We talked about our kids and parenting and what that’s all about,” Smith says.

Yesterday I posted a rumor about a possible visit of Britney Spears to England for the shooting of the video for her upcoming single ‘Radar’ and it seems that the initial report stirred something around as we have some more rumors to add:

• “AllAccess.com has removed “Radar” from their upcoming June releases. Does this mean the 4th single off “Blackout” is officially dunzo? Maybe our voices have been heard and “Toy Soldier” will be the single. Below is the listing AllAccess had just a few weeks ago. Tis currently nowhere to be found.” (source)
• “Sony say that there will be no video for Radar and that Radar isn’t actually being released as a single.”
  “Apparently that’s it for Blackout now and Britney’s in the studio working on new stuff.” (source)

These are the rumors as they were posted. Let’s see if out of the 3 any will turn to be true…

While piece of me is ready to hit the radio stations, the video may not be out after all. The location was picked, the dancers were recruited (& paid), even a body double for Britney was found, but unfortunately, amidst all efforts filming were canceled. Wondering why? So are we, but mixed stories make it hard to determine.

According to the video production company, filming was scheduled for Friday when Britney is due for court, hence the body double. However, due to timing problems filming were canceled.

Britney’s crew painted a different picture claiming that the producer got in a car accident “The video’s producer was involved in an accident and is not able to film on Friday,” explains a friend. “They rescheduled it for next week. It’s strictly the production company’s fault and they are paying to compensate for lost time.“

Following a short poll on ZOO, Britney’s fans (who participated) voted Pieces of Me as the next single out and as with anything that has to do with Britney, some rumored single cover has already been leaked.

The word on the street is that Jive Records, Britney’s studio, is talking about releasing a second single to the radio as soon as December. As of right now, Break the Ice is the top contender but Hot as Ice has a good chance at making as well.

Altogether, Britney is scheduled to release 4 singles off Blackout to the radio over tne next few months.
