Today it’s a holiday where I live so Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians! In light of the holiday I thought I’d just go for something fun today. This girl is a serious makeup pro, she knows how to re-create all kinds of celebrity makeup looks.

In this video she teaches you how to mimic the eye makeup that Britney Spears used in her video “A Piece of Me”. With fun summer outings looming ahead, it would be a great look for an evening out!

Britney Spears got a second nomination for an VMA award and this time it is Best Pop Video. This nomination comes only a week after MTV announced her nomination for Best Female Video for her song and video Piece Of Me.

In the Best Pop Video category Britney will be running against the Jonas Brothers’ “Burnin Up,” Danity Kane’s “Damaged,” Tokio Hotel’s “Ready, Set, Go!”and Panic at the Disco’s “Nine in the Afternoon”

Both nomination are for the “Piece of Me” video and it looks like a performance would not be too much to ask for. So what do you say? Piece of Me on the VMAs?

What was a speculation earlier this week is now official - Britney Spears had made it to the VMA “short-list”, that is, the final list from which a winner is voted…

The event will be held in Paramount Studios in Hollywood on September 7 and Britney is nominated for a Best Female Video for her Piece of Me video.

Along with Britney also nominated:

Katy Perry - I Kissed a Girl
Jordin Sparks - No Air
Rihanna - Take a Bow
Mariah Carey - Touch My Body

Personally, looking at this list, I think Britney has a good chance at winning and if that is the case I think that we have chance at seeing her perform but this will happen only if she is prepared to give a dream performance. Otherwise she can seriously start thinking about retirement…

When it comes to VMA’s, Britney have had a handful of performances in the past decade some more memorable, others less memorable but following last year’s train wreck people seem to only remember the bad one and forget the good.

Well, Britney may have another shot at making things better and hitting the red carpet as a deserving artist in the upcoming VMA. She has been named in a long list of nominations for Best Female Video for her song and video Piece Of Me.

As this weeks concludes, Piece of Me, the most recent single off Blackout had entered the US top 10 downloaded songs on iTunes. Since people have been saying that the entire album pretty much tanked, the late rise of individual singles may hint otherwise.

The single is also doing very well internationally, being #1 in Ireland, #2 in Canada, #4 in Australia and 5th in the UK.

Piece of Me will premiere tomorrow night during the 20/20 show on ABC (Tomorrow, Friday at 10:00pm) and a sneak peak was posted to the net earlier today. Since the song speaks about Britney, the paparazzos and that lifestyle, the show selected it to premiere during a segment about Britney and her life as a gossip queen…

While piece of me is ready to hit the radio stations, the video may not be out after all. The location was picked, the dancers were recruited (& paid), even a body double for Britney was found, but unfortunately, amidst all efforts filming were canceled. Wondering why? So are we, but mixed stories make it hard to determine.

According to the video production company, filming was scheduled for Friday when Britney is due for court, hence the body double. However, due to timing problems filming were canceled.

Britney’s crew painted a different picture claiming that the producer got in a car accident “The video’s producer was involved in an accident and is not able to film on Friday,” explains a friend. “They rescheduled it for next week. It’s strictly the production company’s fault and they are paying to compensate for lost time.“
