Britney Spears is in the Big Apple to promote Womanizer, her recent single and gave a lengthy interview to Z100, the station who premiered the single for her.

‘Womanizer is a really cool song,‘ Britney told Z-100. ‘I like the fact that it’s so empowering for girls because it’s basically saying, ya know, we know what you’re up to. It’s about guys cheating on other girls and stuff like that. And it’s kinda like a girl anthem, so that’s why I like it.‘

In the meantime, the single is also climbing over U.S. charts, it climbed from #50 to #39 on Mediabase Top 40 Radio Airplay counting 1,638 million audience and 1,200 spins (as of Sunday).

Lastly, it’s been confirmed that the single will be released on iTunes on October 7th. I saw it available for download on some pirated websites but the official release will only take place next week.

While the media was flooded with rumors that Jamie Lynn will not go home after the birth everyone expected her to go to Serenity. Well their car did go to Serenity but Jamie Lynn was not in the car…

OK reports today:

Many reporters and photographers fell victim to a well-choreograped ruse, which had Casey and Lynne drive back to Serenity with a Jamie Lynn look-alike in the back of the car, thus allowing mom and daughter to make their exit in private, driven separately by private security guards and escorted by state troopers back to their home in Liberty.

Contrary to many reports yesterday that Jamie Lynn Spears had her baby in a C-Section, OK Magazine confirmed this morning that this is untrue and that Maddie Briann Spears/Aldridge was born naturally at 9:33 a.m Thursday morning (6/19).

There are no new photos this morning of either family member and it seems as if the police crack-down worked.

Following a court session earlier this afternoon, the judge ruled to extend Jamie Spears’ Conservatorship for another 4 weeks (March 10th) when the court will meet again.

According to the original court papers:

“Immediate access to the trust’s liquid assets is necessary to pay for Britney’s security, and to pay for her medicine, food, other day-to-day expenses, and for psychiatric and other essential medical services,” the papers said.

In addition, Jaime’s attorney added that following 200 hours of searches, Sam Lutfi was still not served with the temporary restraining order. and that he asked the court for a renewal which was approved.

“We have made great effort to have Mr. Lutfi served,” said Cohen. “We staked out his residence at the hospital. We did many things we do not want to discuss right now. We have information he is intentionally avoiding service.”

Britney apologized this week to the X17 crew who she attached back in February (remember, the umbrella). This is apparently also the letter she passed on during this candid shoot. Britney wrote:

I want to apologize for the past incident with the umbrella. I was preparing a character for a possible movie role where the husband doesn’t play his part so they swap places. Unfortunately I didn’t get the part, I’m sorry.

Yesterday I posted pictures of Britney Spears in a thong bikini, and later in the day, more information started emerging about the occasion and location.

Britney had apparently took a few days vacation in Mexico this weekend where she allowed herself a bit more anonymity (can she? really?). Britney stayed at the Four Seasons in Punta Mita, which is about 26 miles from Puerto Vallarta.

PEOPLE reports that Britney was very friendly with the tourists on the beach and even stopped an older couple to warn them: “Be careful, there are lots of man o’ war jellyfish washing up on shore, you don’t want to get stung.”

I had already posted pictures of Britney’s thong yesterday, and have several more to be posted later on today, stay tuned.

Next week’s issue of US Magazine has a short piece about Britney’s upcoming album with insights from Kara DioGuardi who, apparently, has been working with Britney before and after rehab. The piece is titled “Her New Album: Update” and here’s the text:

Rehab had a big effect on Spears’ music. According to songwriter Kara DioGuardi (she cowrote Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man”), who worked with the pop star last fall and again on May 7, “She’s been changing stuff since she’s gone back in the studio.” And DioGuardi is impressed. “She elevates a song with her personality. She always gives great ideas and melodies.” Despite those lip-synced concerts, DioGuardi calls Spears “a really good singer,” and tells US “When she gets in her zone, forget it!”
