Sam Lufti owes Britney Spears big money

May 12, 2009 by Sherry

Sam Lufti already got hit with a restraining order thanks to Britney Spears‘ crack legal team. Now he might get hit with a big bill too.

According to People.com, Britney’s lawyers are asking Sam Lufti to pay $123,142 to cover the legal fees that racked up during the hearing.

Not only will they pull in some cold, hard cash from Britney’s ex-manager, her ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib is being ordered to pay up his share too - $72,292. They’re also seeking $129,922 from Jon Eardley who challenged Jamie Spears over his control of Britney. Both men were also recipients of restraining orders.

The lesson one can learn from all of this is that it’s really expensive to screw around with Britney Spears.

I sure hope they all made enough money off of Britney back in the day to cover the fees!

Sam Lufti ordered to stay away from Britney Spears for three years

April 29, 2009 by Sherry

Yesterday, that sigh of relief you heard probably came from Jamie Spears. He must be thrilled that a judge has passed judgment and now Sam Lufti is ordered to stay away from Britney Spears for three years. Sam must keep a minimum of 100 yards from Britney, her two boys, homes belonging to her family members, and is not allowed to contact her (or her sons) via phone, mail, or email.

Due to recent circumstances, the order also states that Sam may not claim to be acting or speaking on Britney’s behalf. Unfortunately, there is no such order to protect Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears.

Sam Lufti is not the only one to be on the receiving end of a restraining order courtesy of the Spears family. Lawyer Jon Eardley frequently challenged the legal control Jamie Spears has over Britney, and now he too is faced with the same orders for three years.

Not surprisingly, Sam Lufti intends to appeal the restraining order. Hasn’t he messed Britney’s life up enough? Doesn’t he have anything better to do with his life these days? Still, his lawyer issued a statement saying:

“We absolutely will appeal this ruling. Never before in history has a restraining order been issued against someone who answered another person’s cries for help.”

I have a feeling this isn’t over yet.

Britney Spears, Sam Lufti, and Adnan Ghalib - Is Brit sabotaging herself?

February 25, 2009 by Sherry

The current court case involving Britney Spears, her dad Jamie Spears, and ex-manager Sam Lufti just keeps getting stranger and stranger! The newest details to leak out from the case, where Sam has been standing up against the restraining order are just bizarre!

Britney Spears lands at LAX from Japan

According to statements made in court, Britney has been making top secret phone calls to Sam Lufti and Adnan Ghalib on a prepaid cell phone that was somehow given to her by her ex-manager. I’m not sure how Sam mmanaged to send her a cell phone when Britney has been so heavily guarded and under what appears to be a very vigilant watch, but the phone in question was allegedly confiscated from Brit by some of the security that keeps tabs on her.

(Confiscated? Really? I don’t think either Sam or Adnan is a good influence on Britney but they confiscated her phone? I know she’s under Jamie’s control legally but this all makes her sound like she 15 years old and got caught staying up too late at night talking to her boyfriend while hiding under her covers, doesn’t it?)

I can’t help but wonder why Britney would want to communicate with either Sam or Adnan when it seems so clear that they caused far more trouble for her than anything else. On the other hand, maybe Britney isn’t sabotaging herself - maybe it’s Jamie Spears who is creating the biggest danger. There’s helping and protecting, and then there’s overbearing and over-controlling. The former could keep Britney safe and make her life better.

But the latter could end up pushing her straight back towards the people she needs out of her life.

What do you think of all this insanity?

Britney Spears can’t control herself - ever

January 7, 2009 by Sherry

According to Access Hollywood, Britney Spears will never control her own life again. The courts filed papers to make the ruling official, and Britney’s conservatorship will be permanent. This means that essentially her father, Jamie Spears will have full control over Britney’s life - for the rest of her life

Her father will permanently control his daughter’s finances and personal matters. The court papers declare that Britney is substantially unable to manage … her financial resources or to resist fraud or undue influence.”

They also claim that she can’t properly provide for her own personal needs when it comes to health, which includes shelter and food.

What is particularly chilling is that Jamie has “the power to restrict and limit visitors by any means.”

While restrictions were good when it came to people like Sam Lufti and Adnan Ghalib, I can’t help but worry - what if Britney meets someone that she cares about and there’s really nothing wrong with him but Jamie just doesn’t like him? It must be scary to be a legal adult but not be allowed to have any kind of control of yourself.

I don’t really know why this was made permanent at this point. Britney isn’t a sociopath, but permanent it is. However, when the ruling was made in October she didn’t object or appeal.

What do you think of the permanence? Is it too much or is it the only way to keep Britney and her kids safe?

Is Britney Spears ready to go on tour?

January 3, 2009 by Sherry

According to Rumors in Music, Britney Spears’ latest choreographer says that she is NOT ready to go on tour yet. The word is that her original tour director and choreographer bailed because they were tired of Jamie Spears being such an overbearing and constant presence, demanding drug tests, implementing curfews that got in the way, and more.

Britney Spears Performs On ABC's

When Jamie King took over the choreography, he apparently wasn’t overly impressed by what he saw. He had just finished working on Madonna’s tour which was a well-oiled machine, but he has allegedly told Britney’s dad that she’s not there yet and isn’t ready to get out on stage for a full concert’s worth of performing.

If the stories are true, supposedly Mr. Spears is not interested in hearing any negativity as a source allegedly said, “Jamie didn’t want to hear it. Instead, he said they were coddling Britney and were letting her get away with too much.”

I admit that when Britney first performed live she looked a little awkward, but I think that had more to do with nerves and knowing that she had to be good after the VMA performance that had last been seen. Once she had a few live performances under her belt again, I noticed that she had improved drastically. I think that Britney just needs to get out there and get back into the groove.

What do you think? Is Britney ready to tour or not?

Britney Spears had a whirlwind tour of Japan, but as of yesterday she is back home in the United States. Over on Twitter (follow her!), she stated, “as much as I loved Japan, I am so happy to be home with my babies.” No doubt!

You can tell in that photo of Britney picking up Sean and Jayden from preschool - I swear she’s glowing in happiness, I love it!

Keep reading below the cut for more photos of Britney Spears arriving back at LAX, looking pretty darn happy and relaxed.

Britney and the Boys Hit Up The Public Pool

August 24, 2008 by Gilad

That’s a bit odd… Considering all the attention Britney gets when she only sticks her nose out of her house, I was surprised that Britney, Jamie, Lynn and the boys hit up the Calabasas public pool along with some friends.

Pool looked empty to me. Can you really get a “reservation” for a private even at a public pool? I didn’t know.

Court OKs Sale of Britney’s Home

June 17, 2008 by Gilad

In today’s court session at the Los Angeles Superior Court, Jamie Spears’ was granted a permission to sell Britney’s current home. No, it doesn’t look like he is cashing in on the house but rather representing Britney’s wish to move away from the troubled home…

According to sources for PEOPLE, “Having more privacy and wide open spaces for her to raise her boys has been a goal for some time.”

There are mixed reports as to whether Britney is to buy a home or build a brand new one but regardless of the result it looks as if it is about to be a huge mansion.

A Britney Endorsed Furniture Deal Scrapped

May 31, 2008 by Gilad

These days it seems as if all celebs are endorsing something and in other cases even owning entire lines of product but the one Jamie Spears has been working on was called off in the last minute.

According to the NYP Jamie has been working along with Danish entrepreneur Claus Hjelmbak on an endorsement deal for a line of shabby-chic Scandinavian furniture - specifically, creating a piece called a “Woofy.”

So what is “Woofy?”

“It was a plastic dog that retails for over $200 and hides electrical wires in your home. Britney wanted to do a pink-and-blue Woofy.”

Well, Jamie had apparently called off the deal because he felt “uncomfortable” with the offer. “Jamie had felt as if Britney was taken advantage of and wasn’t going to let that happen…”

Brit’s Parent Back to Court?

February 6, 2008 by Gilad

Britney’s parents made it clear that they are very unhappy with what happened today. In fact the two are so unhappy that we hear speculations that they may be heading back to court to ask for ways to enforce their conservatorship.

While the conservatorship allows Jamie Spears legal control over Britney’s estate, as it is currently, Jamie cannot force his wishes on Britney’s and therefore she ends up driving around town and meeting whoever she wishes. This can change very quickly with the right court order, and this order may be approved as soon as tomorrow morning.
