Britney Spears gets equal shared custody of the kids with Kevin Federline

June 11, 2009 by Sherry

According to reports, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have come to an agreement regarding shared custody, one which would allow each of them 50-50 time with the kids.

Britney Spears, Sean Preston Federline, Jayden James Federline

There will be a temporary agreement throughout the months of June, July, and August while Britney is on tour that will actually give her more than 50% custody, with both sides having submitted requests for the days the Federline boys would be with each parent.

Once Britney’s tour is over, the 50-50 custody agreement will go into effect.

I hope this is all accurate because while I think it was best for Sean and Jayden to be with Kevin full time when Britney was falling apart, she’s doing so much better now and they’ll likely thrive best if they can have equal time with both their parents.

Did Britney Spears make a call for help?

March 30, 2009 by Sherry

Britney Spears has allegedly called her legal team, pleading for help in making sure that her father’s conservatorship can be dropped without jeopardizing her access to her children.

In the clip, as posted by JFXOnline.com, Britney claims her father has threatened to take her children away several times and she requests reassurance that the lawyers can protect her from that.

I think it’s fake. Have a listen:

For one thing, that doesn’t even sound like Britney at all. And her legal team would not have leaked the clip, so unless there’s some rogue receptionist or something, it’s unlikely that this is real.

Also, I don’t know about you, but if I was a mother who was worried about losing my children, my voice mail would be a) longer, and b) way more panicked than that was.

Do you agree that it’s fake?

Britney Spears to cancel tour if her sons can’t come too

February 2, 2009 by Sherry

If you’ve purchased tickets for one of the upcoming Britney Spears concerts, you may end up having to get a refund. At the moment there are apparent legal complications that may lead Britney to flat-out cancel the tour - every single show. The issue? Her two sons, Jayden and Sean.

According to TMZ, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, along with Brit’s father, Jamie Spears, made an agreement that Jayden James and Sean Preston would accompany her on her tour. They wouldn’t be coming to all her shows, of course, but they would remain in one of three central locations which would allow Britney to travel quickly back and forth between shows and her boys. The three temporary homes would be located in New Jersey, Los Angeles, and New Orleans.

On top of that, TMZ reports:

And here’s a fun fact. We’ve learned Britney will pay Kevin in excess of $4,000 a week for each week she’s on tour. The way the deal goes… Brit would get K-Fed his own pad in each of the three bases and he wouldn’t even have to show up to get the money!

Here is the part that I don’t understand - this all comes across as very reasonable. The boys will still see their mother and father as frequently as they do now and they would be in homes, not traveling the country in a tour bus. They don’t lose their mom for weeks or months at a time. And both parents came to a solid and comfortable agreement.

Yet the lawyers who represent Kevin are flipping out over the work that was done behind their backs and are against the entire arrangement. Not only are they trying to prevent the deal, they’re hinting at a custody upheaval. TMZ says:

By the way, Britney now has close to 50/50 custody and the trio has also worked out a long-term agreement, which would extend the arrangement. That too, could be compromised.

Perhaps I’m not legally aware enough, but I don’t get it. Kevin hired the lawyers to work for him, not the other way around. If this is what he wants and it works out well for everyone, then why do they get a say in this at all?

In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed that this will all work itself out because one thing is certain - Britney Spears sounds determined to cancel the entire tour if her boys can’t join her. As a fan, I think it would be disappointing. As a mother, I don’t blame her one bit.

What’s your take on all this legal mumbo-jumbo?

Did Britney Give up Custody for Sex Tapes?

July 29, 2008 by Gilad

Kevin Federline Hosts At The Beatles Revolution At The Mirage

More than a week has passed since Britney and KFed closed their deal and while Britney is celebrating the closed deal, many are wondering if Britney sold her custody for bigger & better things? Well… That depends…

Ever since the divorce, there have been rumors of a possible sex tape(s) featuring the two and that Kevin was using them to “blackmail” Britney. If there is any truth in these rumors, part of the custody agreement included securing these “loose sex tapes” as well as personal introduction of Kevin to some of Britney’s high-profile contacts in the industry.

Via Star Magazine:

“On the condition she return the favor by hooking him up wit showbiz contacts, Kevin agreed to keep the racy tapes they made together locked away-and he may even turn them over to her in the future…..He’s also promised to be more flexible about accommodating Britney’s schedule with Sean and Jayden…He’s talking about letting her take a supervised trip with the boys.” [source]

Is Britney Heading to the Big Apple?

July 1, 2008 by Gilad

Following the failed custody talks last week and while team Britney is preparing for an August 25th custody battle in court which will finalize their custody status, Britney is already busy planning life after court.

Apparently the plans include a big move to the Big Apple and a leading role on Broadway. According to this week’s Life&Style, “Britney was in serious talks to be the new Sandy in the show Grease,” but it was Jaime Spears who suggested that she sticks around at least until the August session.

What about KFed? Well he may be following Britney as well. According to the magazine’s source “he [Kevin] and Britney have talked, and they’re hoping that in six to 12 months they can both be in New York with the kids, working in different shows.” Kevin was, apparently, offered a role as the UPS guy on Legally Blonde.

Is Britney’s plan to sell her house, due to this upcoming move? What do you think?

Britney Heading to Court Twice this Week

June 17, 2008 by Gilad

Britney Spears may be off the hook on one case but she will still need to appear in court twice this week…

britney spears heading to court

First appearance, taking place today, will be in probate hearing pertaining to her conservatorship. As you may remember, the court had ruled that Britney is incapable of appearing in her own custody hearing and she is making great efforts to get ’small hurdle’ off the way in an attempt to eventually get some custody back.

In last month’s session the court decided not to decide and kept the status quo as is.

Second appearance, this coming tomorrow, will for charges of driving without a license last August. If you remember, Britney had a small ‘incident’ and after the fact, police noticed that Britney was driving with a Louisiana driver’s license while living in California for almost 9 years. Which means she was driving without a license…

KFed Big Spender Attitude May Cost Him

April 4, 2008 by Gilad

Last month Kevin was awarded $500,000 for paying his legal fees in the child custody battle. The payer, none other but Britney herself. However, today we learn that Kevin may have not been broke after all and could have possibly afford paying the bills on his own.

According to new documents filed at the court by Britney’s new attorney, Stacy Phillips, Kevin “understated his income by at least $200,000.” Kevin also buried all sorts of personal expenses and pretended to have had $800,000 worth of business expenses.

The documents state that while Kevin’s only grossed $544,074.73 in 2007, his expenses totaled $841,128.67. In addition, Philips added that Kevin paid “extraordinarily high tips for food and beverage services [e.g., $1,100.76 tip on $2,782 bill; $200 tip on $371.29 bill; and $2,000 tip on $365 bill].

Vegas Vacation:
According to legal docs, in a recent eight-month period, Kevin blew $50,489.71 on hotel rooms in Las Vegas.

In one day alone, K-Fed dropped $2,632.50 at TAO Beach (the pool club at The Venetian). And on one wild evening, he spent $2,862.60 at TAO nightclub. One day at the Hard Rock Beach Club — $3,008.33

The cream of the crop was the Scores strip club, where Kevin once spent $365, but left a $2,000 tip.

Britney Fights Back, Will Team Kevin Be Exposed?

March 5, 2008 by Gilad

Michael Sands, former spokesperson for Kevin Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan and Sam’s spokesperson had been subpoenaed for a deposition tomorrow. No, it is not about Sam this time but about Kevin and it appears as if team Britney is trying to get some basic information about their operations in the custody case. .

According to Sands, he has all kinds of juicy info to tell from the person who instructed him to plant the “Sam is a drug dealer rumor” and more. In a recent conversation with X17, Sands said:

“I’ll have to reveal the name of the person who told me Sam Lufti was a drug dealer and that I should plant that he was a drug dealer in the media. There were two people who witnessed this and I’ll have to say who they are…

“I’ll also have to reveal the name of the person who told me, after I’d been
subpoenaed — I’d already picked up the subpoena from my post office box — to actually take the subpoena back to the post office and put it back in the
box. I was told to pretend I’d never got it.”

Plenty of juice for everyone…

Court Update: No Change

February 19, 2008 by Gilad

Court met today to discuss the Spears vs. Federline custody battle and although we hear that Kevin was all for allowing Britney some time with the boys, the court decided not to decide and kept the status quo as is (100% to KFed).

On the same note, we hear that the conservatorship was not discussed nor mentioned and that unless Britney’s new attorney pulls some Federal Court hearing out of the bag, no change will happen until March 10th.

Update 1: The above comments are as of the court’s lunch break. Hearing is set to continue in 10 minutes so while the above was agreed, it is not set in stone (yet).
