For today’s Friday Flashback I’d like to take you back to the year 2000 at the MTV Awards. Britney Spears hits the stage singing part of “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones before stripping out of her black pantsuit into a revealing and sheer glittery outfit.

From there Britney bursts into “Oops I Did it Again”. I have to say, as much as I’ve been enjoying the video clips from the Circus Tour, her dancing back then was just epic. I always loved watching Britney dance, her choreography is just amazing.

Also, and this may just be a sign that I’m reading and watching way too much Michael Jackson footage lately, you can really see some of his influence on Britney in this performance. The way she’s dressed (especially the hat) at the beginning and the way she dances before stripping down is so very much his style. Amazing how much he affected the big stars of today!

I’ll admit it - I am a total sucker for baby pictures. I love baby pictures in general anyway, but I especially enjoy seeing pictures of the rich and famous when they were just knee-high to a grasshopper so to speak. It’s fun to take someone who’s attractive and popular now and see what they looked like way back when.

When it comes to Britney Spears, it would seem that she’s always been beautiful! She was an absolutely adorable baby - look at those big round eyes and those chubby little cheeks. How cute is that?!

Then check her out in 1988. She was still just a wee thing but she was so incredibly pretty, is it any wonder that she grew up to be someone that girls everywhere wanted to copy?

She was a star in the making, no doubt about it!

I hope all my American Britney Groupie readers have been having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Since even Britney Spears is enjoying some down time with friends and family there’s a shortage of news, but that’s a good thing for her.

Something I love to do is pick my favorite songs by different artists and then hit YouTube to find remixes. I found a great remix of a long-time favorite Britney song, “Stronger”. Check it out!

Here’s a Friday Flashback that *really* flashes back. Take a moment to enjoy the early days of Britney Spears’ musical career as she sings “I’m Gonna Get You” with the other Mickey Mouse Club kids - including Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake!

Seriously, this is what I love about the Internet - I never watched the Mickey Mouse Club because I didn’t get that channel (those were the days before satellite boxes that could pick up 900 different channels!), so it’s really cool to be able to go to YouTube and find an old video clip of Britney Spears from her Mickey Mouse Club days!

Did you know it’s been ten years since Britney Spears released “Baby One More Time”? That makes me feel kind of old.

The dancers who worked with her back then put together a little video with her choreographer, Andre Fuentes to thank her for helping them jump-start their careers.

That is so cool!

Saturday Night Live was always one of my favorite shows so I thought I’d share a little skit that Britney Spears did with Tracy Morgan.

“Oh I’ll be back, I’m just gonna go down in the sewer!”

I’d love to see her do more skit things in the future, maybe on Mad TV.

Flashing back seven years, here’s Britney Spears sharing the stage with N’Sync, with Brit performing “Hit Me Baby, One More Time

That was when Britney was really in the prime of her career, when she was singing hit songs with excellent dance moves and managing that thin line between looking sexy without looking skanky (something many young girls in Hollywood can’t seem to grasp).

Will her new album catapult her back to this place in the music world? Time will tell, but let’s hope!

The last time we saw Britney Spears perform with Madonna was a long time ago, but how could we ever forget the unexpected kiss that happened in their song?

That’s right - everyone will remember the Britney-Madonna kiss forever because it was epic and completely unexpected.

The newest bit of gossip is that Britney may get “Sticky & Sweet” with Madonna all over again! (Oh come on, I couldn’t help it!) Allegedly, Madonna is hoping she can help get Britney’s life and career back on track by inviting her to be the opening act for her “Sticky & Sweet” tour. The “source” for The Sun said:

“They are recording a video together on Sunday that will provide the backdrop for part of Madonna’s show. And they are talking about Britney taking the stage on a few of the dates too. It’s hoped that Madonna can help Britney get back to her old self.”

I don’t know how true this is yet - a source and The Sun aren’t the most reliable in the world of media, but it’s exciting to think about. While there was a time that Britney was a big enough act to not need to open for someone else, there’s no doubt that touring with someone as big as Madonna would do wonders to help boost her career back up to the level it should be again.

Here’s hoping!

Seriously. That would be one hell of a tour!
