Britney Spears considers Kevin Federline one of her best friends

Despite the ferocity of their custody battle, Britney Spears calls Kevin Federline one of her best friends. Sister Jamie Lynn Spears told Hello! magazine, “Kevin has been great, as always. He and Britney have become best friends. She knows how much he cares about the boys and he knows the same is true of her.”

I’m so glad to read this. Divorce can be terrible on kids when the parents can’t find a common ground – and that common ground should be the best interests of the kids. Kevin fought hard for custody because Britney was going through her massive meltdown. In hindsight she can probably even see herself that she was not in a good place to be the primary parent at that time.

It made me hopeful when Kevin decided to work out arrangements to have the boys follow Britney while she was on tour with him tagging along to care for them when she was busy. Not everyone would be able to do that for their ex or even for their children and it showed that they both still care about each other as people.
