Britney Spears is a hot 1950s housewife

This week Britney Spears turned into a hot housewife. No, she isn’t giving up music to stay home. Rather, she was filming her new video for her latest single, “If U Seek Amy”. In the video, Britney will dress up in a blond wig, a pink shirt, and a white skirt, acting out the part of a 1950s-era housewife with a sexy spin to it.
According to People:
“The video begins with Britney coming outside her house to hand the paparazzi an apple pie that she baked [...] She acts like she wants to hook up. The video is very provocative.”
That makes perfect sense to me. If the semi-subtle message of the song is understood correctly (with “If U Seek Amy” turning into lines like “all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to f-u-c-k me”), the actions of the video fit well.
Although Britney is dressed in 1950s clothing, there are a lot of dancers in the video wearing very little, contributing to the sexy feel of the video.
Sources are quoted as saying that Britney was very happy and took her work seriously while on the set for the shoot. That’s great to hear!

I think it sounds like Britney isn’t too concerned about complaints some folks have made about the explicit nature of the song (which, in my opinion, isn’t overly explicit compared to some of the stuff you see on TV during primetime hours!).
