Britney Spears tells all on MTV’s For the Record

Britney Arrives In New York

Last night, Britney Spears was front and center on MTV in her documentary For the Record – did you watch it? I thought it was an incredibly revealing documentary and I feel like we learned so much about her.

Listening to Britney talk about her breakdown was heart-wrenching. Even now she said that sometimes she has good days, sometimes she has bad days – and sometimes “it’s too much”. Specifically, she said:

“[It was] a really bad time in my life. … I’m not gonna sugarcoat it and say I was OK. Maybe I had traumatic stress. I just remember I did not want to be at home. When I was in my car, I was driving and I was going somewhere.”

And now?

“Normal is different for everybody. It could be a lot worse. There are people out there who have it a lot worse than I do. [...] I choose to be a happy person. If I have a bad day, I get angry with myself.”

Britney’s biggest goal with the documentary, she said, was to try to make people see that despite the fame she’s just like everyone else. At the end of the day she’s just someone who happens to love what she does, who loves her babies, and who works her ass off – she just happens to do all those things in front of millions of people on a daily basis.

I’m hoping to have some video footage up later, so stay tuned for that if you missed the full documentary of Britney Spears For the Record. Meanwhile, below the cut there are more photos of Britney arriving in New York after returning from Europe.
