Britney has been spending long hours at the studio recently trying to wrap up her album for a rumored early 2009 release and while her team has been successful at avoiding any leaks about the contents of this album, music producer Rodney Jenkins released a short statement on what we should expect.

Talking of the new album, Jenkins said: “I’ve always worked with Britney and I love working with her. I’m trying to reinvent her and reinvent myself for her project, and stuff we did for her is very dancy, really uptempo. In the clubs, real aggressive, and catchy. Very hook friendly.”

Jenkins is a legendary music producer who’s previously worked on hits for the likes of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.

Well, it’s already been confirmed that Britney Spears will not preform at the VMAs next month but the recent from the rumor machine say that Britney is, apparently, dieing to present an award at the show.

In addition, we hear, that she may be presenting an award with Olympic phenomenon Michael Phelps. According to a source “She hopes to share the stage with Michael Phelps.”

With the tremendous improvements made by Britney Spears in the past several months it seems that even fellow celebs start to appreciate it. Two of those are Paris Hilton and Pete Wentz.

Paris Hilton spoke to Extra!TV yesterday about the launch of her new hair-extension line called the “Bandit!” and when asked about Britney she said “I love Britney. I think she looks so beautiful right now. I’m really happy for her. She looks amazing, and she better win the VMA, she’s the best.”

Paris and Britney had their own rift back in the day when several sets of popular photos were taken. There were a series of accusations following that time but it is good to see that all is good now.

Pete Wentz also spoke to People about filming the VMA promo with Britney and said, “It was awesome. Britney really proves how much the fans really matter, because the fans really want to see Britney win and turn it around.”

I was procrastinating earlier and spending far too much time on YouTube, but it paid off because somehow I came across this Future Presidents remix of Britney Spears‘ “Piece of Me”.

In all honesty, they don’t change it up too drastically, but I love the faster beat, I could see that being a huge hit in dance clubs. I think I actually like it even better, and when I went and listened to the original afterwards, it seemed too slow in comparison.

The denials of a Britney Spears VMA performance continued this morning when Ryan Seacrest read an email on the air at KIIS-FM in Los Angeles. He had received an email from Britney’s manager that further denied the rumors of her performing this year.

The email read:

“Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I am telling you officially and unequivocally that BS will not be there.”

He also mentioned that she’s in the process of recording her album - an explanation for all her rehearsal time lately - and that it’s going very well.

Yes, she’s performing! No, she’s not performing! Yes, she is! No, she’s not! Yes! No! My aching head…

I’m still hoping that they’re just trying to keep it quiet so that it’s a surprise. MTV will do well this year because I bet a lot of people will tune in just to see, once and for all, if Britney does or does not perform!

That’s a bit odd… Considering all the attention Britney gets when she only sticks her nose out of her house, I was surprised that Britney, Jamie, Lynn and the boys hit up the Calabasas public pool along with some friends.

Pool looked empty to me. Can you really get a “reservation” for a private even at a public pool? I didn’t know.

I love this! Someone took the time to put together a great video featuring different dance numbers performed by Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez. It’s a dance-off competition!

What do you think? I do think J-Lo is a great dancer, no disputing that, but I think I prefer Britney’s dance style.

Madonna’s Sweet & Sticky tour was launched yesterday with a huge concert at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales earlier today (Saturday, Aug 23) and the cameo piece with Britney Spears was aired for the first time during the 2008 version of her song Human Nature.

The video features Britney while stuck in an elevator while she is whispering “express yourself, don’t repress yourself” finally the doors open and she says “It’s Britney Bitch”.

The “VMA flip-flop” continues today with a source close to team Britney denying rumors of a possible appearance.

Earlier today Sherry posted that Brit’s hairstylist may have blabbed too much saying he is preparing 3 hairstyles for her. However, it didn’t take too long before someone close to Britney performed damage control and told BreatHeavy.com that Brit will NOT perform as speculated. “Britney is so excited to attend the VMA show, but as of now there will be no performance,” says the insider. “Right now Britney is focusing on her kids and recording.”

As if we did not have enough with the whole elections, the next 2 weeks left before the show seem to be going in a very confusing direction.

No, Britney Spears has not confirmed a VMA performance yet. However, her hair stylist, Kim Vo has spilled the beans by telling E! Entertainment that he’s busy coming up with three different hairstyles for Brit at the upcoming VMAs.

Why three hairstyles for one pop star? According to E’s website:

1. The first look would obviously be for the red carpet. Vo says he and Brit are still “feeling out” ideas about how that will look.

2. The second style would be for the show itself, probably something “more chic, like a side ponytail.”

3. And look No. 3 would be for her PERFORMANCE! That’s right, we said performance. For such an event, Vo and Brit want something “more quintessential Britney.” “Performance” and “quintessential Britney” said together could only mean our girl is definitely coming back to us.

I don’t know if he was supposed to be telling us about this - Britney may be pissed if it was meant to be a surprise! On the other hand, he could just be HOPING for a performance and creating a third hairstyle just in case.

But I’m hoping that this does mean Britney Spears will be putting on a VMA performance this year, one that will blow away all the negative vibe from last year. Plus, she’s been doing all the rehearsing for something, right? What do you think? Is she or isn’t she?!
