Britney Spears is off the hook for pap foot

Back in May, Britney Spears allegedly ran over a photographer’s foot with her car; he claims she “crushed” his foot. Although the man in question filed a lawsuit against her, claiming that it was intentional, no charges will be laid.
The Deputy District Attorney announced in a Los Angeles court that video footage showed that it was actually the photographer who was at fault and not Britney.
“We have no evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the suspect was aware that the victim’s foot had been struck by the car,” the judge said.
“There was much commotion and noise at the time and there is no proof that the suspect was aware of what had happened.”
You know what? I’m so glad that this happened. While I don’t sit around wishing harm on others, I’m glad that a member of the paparazzi had his foot run over. While we all enjoy seeing celebrity photos, these people are insane and they take it way too far all the time. They crowd celebrities in the street, shoving cameras in their faces, they sit outside their homes, they take invasive photos on private property if they can manage it, and they chase them down. It was really only a matter of time before someone got hurt and I’m glad that it was not more serious. But you know, every time I see paparazzi jump into their cars to chase a celebrity down, I always remember that when Princess Diana died it was because they were being chased by someone who desperately wanted a photo.
So good for the photographer for getting a wake-up call about being a little more careful and good for Britney Spears for not being punished for someone else’s stupidity.
