Britney Spears is officially teaming up with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins to produce a new album which will be out sometime in early 2009. The duo did an album together back in 2000/2001 and are looking to re-create the same success. They’ve apparently been meeting up in studios to get started on producing some new tracks for her upcoming album.

He was quoted as saying:

“I’m trying to reinvent her and myself. [The new sound is] very dancey, really uptempo, in the clubs, real aggressive, and catchy.”

I can’t wait. I’m really hoping that this is a big turning point for Britney. She’s been getting her head together, finally got the help she needed, she’s regained overnight visits with her children (and had her first sleepover with them since the new verdict this past weekend!), and she’s been keeping in shape. A good, solid album is exactly what she needs to re-secure her music career.

Remember when Jerkins did the Darkchild remix of “Overprotected”? That is what we need to see again! Something like this!

I’m really looking forward to hearing what Britney and Jerkins do together!

Federline spoke about his upcoming single called Daddy’s Home while hosting a party in South Beach (Florida). According to a source for People.com “He has put a lot of time and effort into writing and rehearsing it, but says it is not quite ready yet.”

Sources at the Mansion say Kevin was in a great mood, dressed in an over-sized, blue, long-sleeved, oxford shirt and jeans, spent much of the night chatting with the club’s host Lyndon Smith, another single dad. “We talked about our kids and parenting and what that’s all about,” Smith says.

Seriously, this is what I want to see from Britney Spears again. I want to see the strong performer who could command a stage with her theatrics and dancing.

According to Popcrunch, it’s not completely impossible to imagine having Britney Spears perform for the VMA 2008 despite a spectacular disaster in 2007. Her performance, as you might well remember, was horrible. She was off in her dancing, looked confused most of the time, and she was obviously lip synching.

Wouldn’t that prevent MTV from grabbing her for a performance again? Absolutely not. Despite the epic failure of “Gimme More” that night, it pulled in over seven million viewers because everyone wanted to see what she would do. The fact that it was such a bad performance means at least that many would tune in to see if she would do it again (”oops, I did it again”, sorry, couldn’t help it!) or if she would overcome everything and do well.

If you add to that the fact that Britney was such a headline grabber during her downward spiral earlier this year, people would be eager to see how she does. Granted, a lot of people are happy to see others fail so a great number would probably gleefully tune in just in the hopes of a repeat, but I would personally love to see her pull of something amazing. That’s why I watched last year, and I’d be hopeful again this year.

MTV president Van Toffler said:

“Who knows? I’m not sure how we top Britney opening the show…..We are working on it every minute of every day. Everyone deserves a second or third chance, right?”

There’s still hope. I would be really happy to see Britney Spears onstage again - if she’s ready for it. What do you think?

Kevin Federline is reportedly being offered spokesmodel deal to the tune of seven figures. The Christopher Brian Collection wants him for their line, saying that they “feel Kevin would be a great model for the line.”

While this is allegedly in discussion, a “source” is stating that K-Fed hasn’t officially decided whether he will take the offer or not. Apparently Kevin is very busy with other projects right now and is working on his movie and music career.

I, uh, wasn’t aware he actually HAD a movie or music career, but I guess he can call it that.

Britney Spears scored another landmark in court and in her recovery process, overnight visitations. In the hearing, held yesterday, the commissioner recognized and appreciated “Britney’s progress” and decided to extend her visitations.

Here is a quick rundown of what happened:

• 8:15am: Team Britney announces the return of the family attorney, Laura Wasser. Wasser is the one who successfully negotiated a custody deal even when Britney was ’slipping’.
• 8:45am: Britney arrives in court, holding a newspaper over her face, and looking very sharp.
• 9:45am: Britney and Kevin are sworn in not before the commissioner clears up the courtroom heaving the two teams.
• 10:50am: Britney and Jamie take a bathroom break. Britney is described as “relaxed and confident.”
• 11:15am: Britney is leaving the courthouse.
• 11:20am: Court spokesperson speaks to the press.

I love this story… Remember the report that Jamie Lynn Spears left the hospital yesterday afternoon in a car driven by Casey Aldridge? Well that was just to confuse the enemy…

While the media was flooded with rumors that Jamie Lynn will not go home after the birth everyone expected her to go to Serenity. Well their car did go to Serenity but Jamie Lynn was not in the car…

OK reports today:

Many reporters and photographers fell victim to a well-choreograped ruse, which had Casey and Lynne drive back to Serenity with a Jamie Lynn look-alike in the back of the car, thus allowing mom and daughter to make their exit in private, driven separately by private security guards and escorted by state troopers back to their home in Liberty.

Good job guys!

Exactly 48 hours after taking her first breath, baby Maddie Briann headed back home with her mom, Jamie Lynn Spears.

According to USMag the two were driven by Casey Aldridge in a white Range Rover and were sitting in the back seat. They left the hospital at 1:40 a.m. and received full a police escort on their way to Lynn’s house (Serenity) where they will spend the next week or so.

“They’re doing terrific,” said a source for PEOPLE magazine. “The baby’s got 10 fingers and 10 toes … and a full head of hair. She’s long, a tall baby, and she weighs 7 lbs, 11 oz.”

The source added that when new grandmother, Joyce Aldridge, held the baby, she remarked that Maddie “has Casey’s toes.”

She was gone for only 2 days but paparazzo’s seem to have really missed her…

Upon Britney’s arrival in LAX over 35 photographers swarmed around Brit’s entourage and followed the group to their car. At one point Britney’s bodyguard felt that the situation was too overwhelming and pushed a camera into a photographer’s face, according to airport police Sgt. Jim Holcomb.

Holcomb said the paparazzo complained that the shove left a slight mark on the cheek, but cooler heads prevailed and no charges were filed.[source]

Although very overwhelmed (see set here), Britney was unscathed, and Holcomb says officers ensured she was able to leave the airport safely.

Although Jamie Lynn just gave birth, Britney Spears has already headed out of Kentwood, LA, according to People.com. She was seen at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Friday, where she said goodbye to her mother and her brother.

At least she got to spend a couple of days with Jamie Lynn and with her new niece Maddie Briann. I was a little surprised at first to see that she had left so soon. After all, it’s not like she can’t afford to take a week or two off to spend time with her family. However, it may be possible that she has an upcoming visit with her boys, so that would be a very good reason for jetting home.
