Britney Spears goes on vacation - with Mel Gibson?!

Mel Gibson sweeps Britney Spears off to Costa Rica

I know he’s reached out to her during her troubled times, but it just sounds so weird to my ears to hear that Britney Spears is packing up to go on vacation with Mel Gibson.

Granted, on its own that statement sounds a little more lewd than it really is. It’s not a romantic getaway, even if they are going to Costa Rica. Mel Gibson owns a home down there and he’s taking Britney and her father Jamie Spears for a few days to just get away and relax.

A source for ET stated that both Mel and his wife Robin “clearly saw a woman in crisis” and this seems to be his way of helping her to get back on track with her life by whisking her away from the pressures and demands of Hollywood life.

Since her successful reprisal of her guest role on How I Met Your Mother, Britney has continued to do well but there was so much drama in her life just a few months ago that getting away from the out-of-touch world of celebrity fanfare is probably a really good idea.

(I wish someone would whisk ME off to Costa Rica when life gets demanding! Mel, hook me up!)
