13 Fired Over Britney Scandal at UCLA Medical Center
UCLA Medical Center decided to fire 13 employees and “discipline” 12 more over snooping in Britney’s private personal documents. Among the “disciplined” also several doctors.
LATIMES reports this afternoon that similar incident happened when Britney gave birth to Sean Preston, back in September of 2005 at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital. According to the source some employees were fired back then as well.
“It’s not only surprising, it’s very frustrating and it’s very disappointing,” said Jeri Simpson, the Santa Monica hospital’s director of HR, who handled the discipline in the first instance. “I feel like we do everything that we possibly can to ensure the privacy of our patients and I know we feel horrible that it happened again.”
This sucks for the hospital who attempted to make sure this doesn’t happen through a memo addressing this issue exactly the day Britney was hospitalized. However, given the amount of money media outlets may offer to pay for such documents/knowledge I can see how some people would take the risk.
