Blackout Picks Up the ‘International Album’ Award
The annual NRJ award show took place in France last night and of all possible albums, Britney Spears’ Blackout was selected for “Best International Album of the Year.” The NRJ is the French equivalent of the Grammy Awards in the US and is considered a high profile award in Europe. While Britney herself did not attend the award, a representative for Jive Records was in the audience to pick up the award. Other top nominees were Rihanna & Mika, both of whom were in attendance for the ceremony.
Blackout sales stats to date amount to 1.5 million albums worldwide. This figure (I believe) does not include iTunes sales but only actual physical album sales.
