Louis Vuitton Sues Britney Spears

Louis Vuitton won a suit of 80,000 EUR in damages and banning of the video for “unauthorised close-up shot of Louis Vuitton fabric” in Britney Spears’ recent video. Damages must be paid by SONY and not Britney herself…
In the video, Spears appears in a car upholstered with Louis Vuitton fabric. The tribunal found the director of the video had clearly emphasized the Louis Vuitton brand, the report said.
The tribunal ruled that responsibility for the unauthorized use of the Louis Vuitton brand lay with Sony, BMG and its subsidiary Zomba as well as MTV Online, and not the singer herself.
Sounds like a principle to me…
